INFERNUM is part of a trilogy called MEMORIA and is the sequal to INFINITAS’ first concept album (CIVITAS INTERITUS, 2017). Through their first album the band tells the story of a poor worker (Adelar), who lives in the fantasy city of Lunatris, which is based on medieval times. One night Adelar wakes up and must watch how demons destroy his city and home. He is the only survivor of this horrible night and flees out on to the open ocean in a ship.
This is where the trilogy starts. Through MEMORIA the band touches upon a whole new complex story. They propose, that every human being can decide for themselves if life is good or bad. With this assumption the survivor can have an influence on his future life – only through his thoughts. He can either create his own hell, by letting those horrible experiences he went through determine his life OR he can create his own personal heaven, where his experiences lead him to a good life. In a further decision he could also live in a very balanced state of mind – his own personal Earth.
INFERNUM is about how the story could continue in a negative way – into hell. Adelar gets caught in a storm and his ship is wrecked close to an island. He manages to swim to shore, but he soon discovers that this very island is where hell awaits him. An island called Antahkarana.
